What is at stake is our democratic freedom. The governance of Australian universities is broken, requiring a solution as proposed by the USAP Manifesto: putting academic leadership in charge.

This step is overdue to restore institutions where human intelligence can be cultivated and moral values can flourish. Rebuilding our universities as academic institutions where academic values and principles rule appears to be the best way forward to control A.I. The arrival of artificial general intelligence (AGI) in the near future is not leaving us much time to prepare.
